I usually play games with lots of action, so mainly FPS games. I put a lot of hours into those and while they are fun, they're very stress inducing. All the stress of those other games build up over time, leading to a stressful lifestyle. Onto the game though.I had just gotten my first paycheck and decided I wanted to buy some games. It wasn't enough for any AAA games, just a good amount for some cheap indie games, and hey, I can support someone else like me who put some effort into a good game. I browsed through the store to find a good relaxing game that I could just sit and numb the thoughts of death and sufferring. Micro Miners looked like a good game. I decided to go out on a limb and purchase it, as it looked like a calm game with some simple goals, again, nothing too complicated. After around twenty minutes, I had gotten hooked. The focus on the constant simplistic mining in the game forces your mind to push away all other stresses in life and only worry about coins and energy. I would play this game for hours while talking to friends, as I had set the bar high. I wanted the whale, and I was going to get it.It doesn't actually take long to get into the groove and finish it either. As long as you stay focused, the power of compound interest has your back. By that I mean the multiplier. 1.5x% increase continually adds up until each second you are even closer to the whale. I'll leave the good parts for you to discover, just know you have to spend enough time in the game for it to reward you. Maybe turn on some relaxing music, or talk to friends. This means you will need to dig out the area to a minimum depth of 300mm below the damp proof course.To ensure that water does not collect on the paving, the foundation needs to have a fall of 1 in 60, which means one centimetre of fall for every 60 centimetres of width. So a 3m wide patio will need 5cm or 50mm of fall.STEP 2: Preparing foundation baseTo create the firm foundation, use a concrete mix of 6 parts all in one ballast with 1 part cement.Mix and add enough water to dampen the mixture just enough so it binds together.Cover the entire area with the mix to a depth of 75mm, level it out with a shovel and then tamp down using a length of timber or trample down with your boots.STEP 3: Mortar preparationLay the paving slabs on a full mortar bed, which should support the whole slab, not just the corners.Use a mortar mix of 6 parts sharp sand to 1 part cement.Mix together with just enough water to make it damp and workable, but not overly wet and runny.STEP 4: Laying the pavingFirst set up 2 taut string lines to guide both the line and the level of the paving. 1 line should run down the length of the patio and the second line side to side, with one including the fall for drainage.Start from the corner and work your way out from there.Spread out mortar to cover an area slightly larger than the paving slab you want to lay and high enough to allow you to tap down the flag to the correct level.Lift and lower the slab into place careful not to catch the corners.Using the rubber mallet, start to tap it down.
